I'll have to apologize but I'm going to issue you a challenge to a duel. Of course, as the challenged party, you're allowed to pick your weapon of choice.

[Simon is out taking Taka for some exercise. As it happens, he's taken to carrying a sword with him at all times around the city, so he isn't unarmed when Archer appears.]

Honour dictates I cannot refuse, of course. But can I ask where this has come from?

Then what are your specialisms? Blacksmithing and cooking? I'm not sure those are duel-worthy activities.

While I was alive, you could say I was a mage. Not a particularly good one at all but one nonetheless.

[For once, Simon doesn't call bullshit on that claim. He's finally starting to see enough weirdness in Cerealia that he doesn't feel the need to rationalise his way out of everything Archer shares about himself.]

If you're still a mage, could you cast a spell on Athena to stop her meddling in our affairs like this?

Unfortunately, I only know two spells. None of them are like that.

In any case, why don't you meet me at sunset [simon this isn't a samurai movie get the fuck out] at the gardens? There's enough of both seclusion and open space that our duel is not likely to be disturbed.

I'll accept that and pass it on.
